OVERVIEW

Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, located in Callaway MD, is a family of Christ followers that exists to exalt the Lord, equip believers, and engage the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a congregational church led by a plurality of elders. The Lead Pastor will serve as an elder working as an equal to the other elders in shepherding the church. While the Lead Pastor may function as a “first among equals”, he is ultimately accountable to the elders. The Lead Pastor is responsible for the teaching, preaching, and overall mission, vision, and values of the church.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Meet the qualifications of an overseer/elder from 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1

  • Agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, the 1853 New Hampshire Confession of Faith, and the church covenant of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church

  • Demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership, administrative, and communication skills

  • A theological degree is strongly preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preaching & Teaching: Lead the church in expository preaching through the entire canon of Scripture, holding fast to its inerrancy and infallibility

  • Congregational Care: Have a heart and desire to shepherd the local church through biblical counseling and hospitality

  • Visionary Leadership: Foster a heart for the Great Commission in coordination with the elders by providing a clear, biblically grounded vision and direction that aligns with our church’s mission values

  • Administrative Oversight: Oversee church staff and maintain professional relations while delegating administrative, day-to-day tasking

  • Ministry Development: Collaborate with ministry directors, implement a culture of discipleship and evangelism, and provide mentorship to those seeking vocational ministry
