OVERVIEW

Providence Church is searching for a Deacon of Worship to serve the congregation as they corporately delight in God and display his glory in gathered worship through prayer, song, and scripture. This is a part time staff role that will serve the church by facilitating musical worship, leading and building the worship team, and participating as a faithful member of Providence Church. Providence Church is a church plant that will launch in the summer of 2025 in the unique small town of Speedway, Indiana on the west side of Indianapolis, home to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Speedway presents the neighborliness and community of a small town with all the conveniences and opportunities of the big city. Within the west side of Indianapolis, there is a desperate need for more healthy, disciple-making, gospel-preaching churches. Providence Church is being planted to meet that need - serving in this role is a unique opportunity to get in on the work of God in a place where it is greatly needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a member of Providence Church in good standing

  • Meet the qualifications of a deacon at Providence Church

  • Skilled musician and vocalist with the ability to shepherd the congregation musically

  • Capable communicator with ability to cast vision and rally community to mission

  • Fully aligned with the mission and priorities of Providence Church

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings

  • Work closely with the Lead Pastor and other leadership to facilitate vibrant, joyful worship that reflects the 5 Priorities: Behold God, Believe his Word, Belong to his People, Become like his Son, Be on his Mission

  • Consistently complete duties and responsibilities in a timely way

  • Maintain a healthy and positive relationship with the members of Providence Church

  • Overall positive annual evaluations

  • Develop and remain within budgets, effectively problem solve, and make ongoing improvements and innovations within the scope of this role

  • Contribute to a positive and effective team dynamic

  • Proclaim and share the gospel

  • Pursue continuing education opportunities
