OVERVIEW

Crosspointe Church in Columbus, Georgia is seeking a full-time Pastor of Discipleship. The Pastor of Discipleship will work under the Elders’ oversight to direct a Word-centered and gospel-centered ministry to the men and women of CrossPointe Church to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by your action, attitude, and behavior

  • Keep family in the right position of priorities: Christ is first and family is a priority over work

  • Regular attendance at Sunday morning and evening services. Wednesday evenings and special services as-needed.

  • Uphold, submit to, and live in accordance with the church’s Statement of Faith and Covenant as a member of the church

  • Understand and embrace critical theological distinctives of CrossPointe Church which are: Reformed soteriology, Male-only eldership, Believer’s baptism

  • Required that the applicant has an undergraduate degree from a four-year accredited university

  • Preferable that the applicant have seminary training and 1-3 years of ministry experience on church staff

  • Serve the church with the necessary managerial, administrative, and technical skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preaching & Teaching

    • Preach as needed

    • Teach Sunday Morning Classes (SMC), Mid-Week Fellowship (MWF), bible studies, etc.

  • Equipping

    • Provide vision, structure & pastoral leadership for SMC, MWF & Community Groups (CG)

    • Help the elder body to ensure all ministries, from kids to adults, of CrossPointe Church are aligned with our vision

    • Identify, train & equip teachers/leaders in all ministry areas to be disciple makers

  • Men’s Ministry

    • Develop & implement vision, goals and objectives for Men’s Ministry that are in line with the church’s mission and the church’s commitment to lead men to follow Christ

    • Develop a men’s ministry team

    • Oversee and coordinate men’s Bible studies

    • Plan, coordinate and lead conferences or events

  • Women’s Ministry

    • Serve as pastoral resource and decision maker alongside the elders by providing oversight and direction for vision

  • Family Ministry

    • Provide pastoral oversight for CrossPointe’s Children’s Ministry (6 months-5 th grade)

    • Plan, coordinate and lead family ministry events alongside and in cooperation with elders and staff

    • Provide biblical care and counseling for members as needed

  • Other Duties
