Associate Pastor of Discipleship
OVERVIEW
Redeemer Church in Cary, NC, is seeking an Associate Pastor of Discipleship. This role involves partnering with the Lead Pastor to oversee and develop the discipleship ministries of the church, with a strong emphasis on administrative and organizational processes. As Redeemer is a relatively new church plant meeting in a school, the Associate Pastor must be an independent worker who can operate autonomously. The ideal candidate will combine a pastoral heart with a passion for discipleship and the skills needed to build and implement robust processes that equip and encourage the church for gospel centered ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Meet the biblical qualifications of an elder outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
Align with Redeemer Church's doctrinal statements and core values
Demonstrate a commitment to equip and encourage the church body for Gospel ministry
Have a deep care for the lost and a passion for reaching those far from God
Strong administrative and organizational skills to take big picture ideas and turn them into a well-structured execution plan
Be detail-oriented, work autonomously, and be able to manage multiple church initiatives effectively
Strong communication and change management skills to ensure that various teams and groups within the church have relevant and timely information necessary to execute their work effectively
Currently discipling other believers and yielding to The Holy Spirit’s prompting in their own life to grow
Seminary graduate preferred, although a greater emphasis is placed on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Focus on creating robust but flexible processes to ensure the smooth operation of these key ministries:
Community Groups:
Develop and implement a clear process for curriculum selection and distribution
Establish a structured leader training program and track leader development
Create a strategy for launching and growing healthy groups, with emphasis that all members at Redeemer are encouraged to actively be involved in a group.
Guest Connection and Membership:
Oversee a step-by-step membership process, including onboarding materials, interviews, and follow-up
Develop a comprehensive guest connection strategy that welcomes visitors. Including contacting them and connecting them to the larger church community and actively encouraging visitors to explore membership.
Ministry Partnerships:
Develop a process for connecting members to service opportunities with ministry partners
Create feedback loops to assess and encourage deeper member engagement that edify the ministries.
