OVERVIEW

Parkwood Baptist Church is seeking a Worship Pastor who will uphold the mission and purpose of Parkwood by leading the body of believers and equipping the saints of Parkwood to glorify God through worship. This is a full-time position that serves in collaboration with and under supervision of the Lead Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Convictions

    • Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing, personal relationship with Him

    • Ability to communicate the truth of all Scripture and rightly ordered biblical, theological beliefs and understanding

    • Committed to the theology of Parkwood as stated in Core beliefs, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and statement on sexuality

  • Character

    • Meets the qualifications of an Elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4) and possesses a shepherd’s heart

    • Gives personal evidence of the fruit of the Spirit and is committed to moral purity (Galatians 5:22-25)

    • Committed to a healthy relationship with wife and family

    • Consistent testimony in public and private of a follower of Christ

  • Calling

    • God-given desire to serve the local church as a Pastor

    • Burden to serve the local church to glorify God through congregational worship, for equipping the saints for the work of ministry

    • Vocational ministry experience

  • Competency

    • Proven strong leadership/executive skills and ability to develop others

    • Proven experience in a complex working environment that requires decision-making and people management

    • Vocal, choral, and instrumental training and expertise

    • Utilization and understanding of up-to-date technological tools for worship ministry

  • Capacity

    • Proven strong work ethic

    • Ability to translate expectations into a daily work schedule and lead others to partner alongside

    • Ability to multitask and ability to deal with the stress and strain of ministry

  • Chemistry

    • Committed to the mission, ministry philosophy, and purpose of Parkwood

    • Enjoys people, working with a team and in a team environment, and working with other ministry areas for the sake of the gospel and the good of the church

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and lead engaging worship services that convey and advance the biblical text and theme each week in collaboration with the Lead Pastor

  • Ensure that the worship service flow is carried out with excellence, both musically and technologically

  • Provide pastoral leadership throughout the Worship Ministry, including recruiting and developing leaders and volunteers

  • Give direct supervision and oversight to the Worship Team staff

  • Plan special worship services as necessary

  • Give oversight to the Worship Ministry Budget

  • Serve as Team Leader

  • Provide and lead in pastoral care for all involved in worship ministry

  • Provide leadership and pastoral care for weddings and funerals

  • Lead a Community Growth Group
