OVERVIEW

Park Hills Baptist Church of Austin, Texas is seeking a new senior pastor. The current senior pastor (V. Samuel Clintoc) has accepted a call to pastor in Romania, but will be staying until the church finds a new senior pastor.

Park Hills Baptist Church has been in existence for 97 years. It is located  7 minutes from downtown Austin, 10 minutes from the University of Texas at Austin, and walking distance from Austin's main park. The church has 104 active members with a good spread of age demographics. The church has a congregational church governance and is led by a plurality of elders (currently two elders: one staff and one lay). The pastors are assisted by six deacons and by a full-time Pastoral Assistant (Ethan Pierce) and other part-time support staff. While they prefer a pastor with prior senior pastor experience, they are open to consider other candidates who demonstrate developed abilities in pastoral preaching/teaching and have proven pastoral leadership marked by energy, initiative, and relational warmth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Meet the biblical qualifications for elders from 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4

  • Healthy spiritual walk with Christ

  • Biblical, baptistic ecclesiological convictions with commitments to expositional preaching, plurality of elders within congregationalism, reformed soteriology, meaningful membership, a culture of personal evangelism and discipleship, church discipline, corporate prayer, and church-centered missions

  • Developed expositional preaching abilities

  • Gifted in equipping others for the work of ministry

  • Highly relational and hospitable

  • Humble and approachable

  • Hard worker as a leader and shepherd

  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative and follow through

  • Prior senior pastor experience preferred

  • Faithfully shepherd the congregation
