Executive Pastor
OVERVIEW
Metropolitan Baptist Church has the heart to be on mission for God locally, nationally, and internationally. Our leadership works to give our congregation a firm biblical foundation that in turn creates a passionate pursuit of God's glory that leads to active worship, hungering discipleship, profound fellowship, purposeful ministry, and the enthusiastic spreading of the good news. As our current pastor is retiring, we are seeking a full-time Executive Pastor, with urban/multi-ethnic ministry experience, to Shepherd the English congregation and oversee two church plants, a Hindi and a Spanish-speaking congregation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Agrees with the MBC Church Constitution and Doctrinal Statement.
Minimum educational level: BA degree or attending seminary
Ordained (or in the process of becoming ordained)
Have a mix of biblical studies education and ministry experience, preferably urban/multi-ethnic
Biblically and theologically literate (Jer. 3:15, Tit. 2:1, 2 Tim. 4:2, Eph. 6: 13-17)
A man of integrity, accountable to God for his church leadership and the congregation
If married, must be a biblical husband of a woman called to be a pastor's wife (Eph. 5: 22-33)
Has an active and growing relationship with God through a consistent prayer life (1 Thessalonians
5:16-18, Hebrews 4:16, Ephesians 6:18)
RESPONSIBILITIES
To help MBC fulfill its purpose statement of creating a passionate pursuit of God's glory that leads
to active worship, hungering discipleship, profound fellowship, purposeful ministry, and the
enthusiastic spreading of the good news.
To preach, teach, train, and shepherd the multi-ethnic English congregation
o Sharing the inerrant word of God in an understandable way that challenges, promotes
spiritual growth, and convicts the congregation (minimum Sunday AM and Wednesday PM
services)
To oversee and guide the non-English congregation plants
