Church Replant Residency

OVERVIEW

Lakeside Baptist Church’s Replant Residency is a full-time, salaried position designed to provide support and oversight for a man who is elder-qualified, convictionally-aligned, and desires to lead a church replant. The resident would seek to shepherd a remaining core of members and lead them to establish a new church. The pastoral resident will work under the leadership of LBC's elders towards the establishment of a healthy, autonomous local church in Surfside, SC within the next 6-18 months.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fulfills all the character qualifications of a pastor/elder as listed in 1 Tim. 3:1-7

  • Commitment to Reformed theology

  • Commitment to Complementarianism 

  • Commitment to “9-Marks” ecclesiology

  • Either received or pursuing a graduate degree from an accredited Bible College or Seminary

  • Clear desire to lead a church replant/revitalization

  • Humble/teachable spirit

  • Self-motivated/driven

  • Shepherd’s heart/love for people

  • Administrative/leadership gifts

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Live or be willing to relocate to Horry County

  • Preach, teach, and shepherd the flock

  • Work through the NAMB Start Assessment for church planters

  • Work under the leadership of the elders towards a replant until the church is fully autonomous
