OVERVIEW

Green Level Baptist Church of Cary, NC is prayerfully seeking a part-time Student Ministry Director. They are located in a rapidly growing, ethnically diverse community in Cary, NC, with more than 20,000 middle and high school students living within 10 miles of their campus. Currently they have around 50 middle and high school students involved, as well as an excellent team of volunteers serving each week. The Student Ministry Director will work to direct the church’s ministry to Middle and High School students (6th-12th grade) and the families under the leadership of their Pastor(s) with the help of the Student Ministry Team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ who has clearly demonstrated a Christlike character in all walks of life

  • Convictional and committed to the Gospel and the doctrine of their church

  • Humble - with a Christ-like focus to serve others before self

  • Knowledgeable – with a growing understanding of church-based Student Ministry, including strategies for discipling students and partnering with their families

  • Evangelistic – with a conviction to help their church reach unbelieving students, including equipping believing students to fulfill the Great Commission

  • Relationally capable of connecting and working well with others, including pastor(s), ministerial staff, members, and guests

  • Intentional, Self-motivated, Teachable, Loving, and Invested

  • Candidates should have received a bachelor’s degree or be working towards earning one

  • Candidates with or currently pursuing a Master of Divinity are preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the leadership of the Pastor(s), and with the help of the Student Ministry Team, the Student Ministry Director will help to:

    • Lead (and meet regularly with) the Student Ministry Team to establish a cohesive plan for the Student Ministry that aligns with the church's larger disciple-making strategy

    • Engage students, parents, and leaders inside and outside regular gatherings in appropriate, gospel-centered, gospel-revealing ways that demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23), teach the Gospel in a joy-filled and biblically sound way that magnifies Christ, and encourages participation in the life of the church outside of the Student Ministry

    • Attend weekly Staff Meetings and meet regularly with the Pastor(s) for growth and development

    • Communicate important information and updates with students, parents and leaders

    • Enforce safety and security protocols and practices

    • Connect with area schools and local ministry partners to help students find ways to fulfill the Great Commission

    • Exhibit a Christ-like example by participating in the life of the church as a member

  • Second, as a staff member and employee of Green Level Baptist Church, the Student Ministry Director will exhibit the following five “marks”:

    • Maintain regular hours and participation in church services and relevant ministry programs under the direction of the Pastor(s)

    • Agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and the mission and vision of Green Level Baptist

    • Resolve to pray regularly for the glory of God, the good of Green Level Baptist Church, and the spread of the Gospel from our neighborhoods to all nations, particularly focusing on students and their families

    • Keep a close eye both on “life and doctrine” (cf. 1 Tim 4:16)

    • Sign acknowledgement form indicating that he or she has read the current version of the Personnel Manual

MORE INFO & APPLYING

Ideally, the candidate would be from Southeastern Seminary, where their Senior Pastor is a PhD student. This is also part-time role averaging 25 hours per week, including Sunday mornings and evenings. The annual salary will range from $33,000-$35,000.
