OVERVIEW

First Baptist Church of Laurel (FBCL) in Laurel, MD is seeking a part-time Director of Operations to oversee the maintenance and scheduling of their building and property. This role will oversee all aspects of FBCL facility and grounds maintenance and improvements, oversee all building scheduling and setup, and attend Trustee meetings monthly.

FBCL is located between Baltimore and Washington DC. It is located on a 31 acre, partially wooded area of land. The area and church are notably international with many countries represented. Membership consists of approximately 500 people, including a Spanish speaking church. The building is also home to Christian Academy of Laurel with approximately 200 students from PreK3 to 8th grade.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mature, growing Christian willing to become part of FBCL

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Solid people and communication skills

  • Organized

  • Project Management is a bonus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all aspects of FBCL facility and grounds maintenance and improvements

  • Schedule ongoing and as-needed maintenance

  • Oversee the scheduling of facility usage

    • There is some minor classroom arrangement and event setup involved

  • Coordinate the church event security team schedule

  • Coordinate the Family Life Center chair ministry

  • Attend Trustee meetings monthly

  • Oversee the scheduling and maintenance of church vans

  • Oversee the monitoring and continuation of FBCL’s property insurance

  • Be available to receive and address calls from the alarm company in the event the alarm is set off
