Pastoral Resident
OVERVIEW
Denver Baptist Church in Denver, NC is offering a residency intended for men preparing for vocational ministry in the local church or on the mission field. The two-year program consisting of theory, observation and practice is meant to serve as a bridge from theological education to ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Displaying a vibrant relationship with Jesus and a love for the church
Committed to pursuing vocational ministry
Has been affirmed by a local church on the pursuit of vocational ministry
Has completed or is currently taking seminary classes (preferred)
Willing to relocate to Denver, NC (preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekly attendance on Sundays for the worship gathering and other Sunday events and on Tuesdays at staff meetings and resident discussions
Bi-weekly attendance at elder meetings
Other evenings and weekends as needed to build meaningful relationships within the church
Reading and writing on matters of theology, ministry philosophy, and practical ministry
Teaching in different venues (Bible Fellowship, evening service, etc...)
Develop pastoral care and discipleship relationships
Connect with visitors and help create a culture of hospitality
Attend conferences and workshops with DBC elders
Other ministry tasks and assignments aimed at the development of church administration, pastoral care, and teaching

This role will require 25-30 hours per week and includes $3,100 monthly compensation.
The start date for this residency is August 2026.
