Student Ministry Director

OVERVIEW

Christ Fellowship Northgate in Greenville, SC is seeking a full-time Student Ministry Director who will cultivate a vibrant, gospel-centered, church-focused student ministry under the direction of the pastors of CFN. This position serves the church by carrying out the mission to come alongside parents in the discipleship of middle and high school students to reach them with the gospel and instill a love for God, a love for others, and a love for God’s word. Aside from participating in the regular ministry of CFN, they will ensure alignment with the student ministry and the overall vision and mission of CFN.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Character - Man who meets the qualifications listed for a deacon in 1 Timothy 3:8-12 and aspires to the office of pastor

  • Conviction - Man committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ, with a deep love for the Bible, for the church, and for God’s mission in the world

  • Competence - Man capable of teaching Scriptures, organizing a growing ministry, developing volunteers, and equipping parents

  • Communication - Man who is able to manage communication with clarity and consistency in order to relate well to the pastors, parents, and students

  • Chemistry - Man who is humble and willing to go the extra mile to serve the church as a whole

  • 25-years-old or older and have completed a university degree

  • At least 2 years of vocational ministry experience and a willingness to pursue seminary education

  • Full alignment with the CFN Statement of Faith and Membership Covenant

  • High competency in web-based communications and a decentralized work environment

  • Genuine love for student ministry and willingness to be a team player for the sake of the overall church

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Youth Ministry – 75%

    • Teach the full counsel of God’s Word to students, focused on helping them learn to read and understand Scripture for themselves

    • Equip parents as the primary disciple-makers for their children and walk alongside students as they move toward adulthood in personal discipleship

    • Be available to counsel students as needed

    • Plan and execute weekly Youth meetings that include Biblical instruction and age/gender appropriate discussion groups

    • Actively recruit adult volunteers to serve in student ministry and provide ongoing training for them to serve effectively

    • Execute ongoing big events for the sake of Bible teaching, relationship building, and fun (at minimum an event in the Fall, Spring, and Summer Camp)

    • Communicate weekly with student ministry families

    • Work with Northgate Kids ministry to prepare new families to move into the student ministry

    • Find meaningful ways to integrate student ministry into the overall life of the church

  • General Church Ministry – 25%

    • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings, church wide events, and a small group

    • Enthusiastically support other staff and ministries at CFN, including needs that arise on Sunday mornings

    • Attend regular meetings with the supervisor for direction, feedback, and assistance

    • Be willing to take on responsibilities as assigned by the pastors
