Ministry Resident
OVERVIEW
Christ Fellowship Church of Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Ministry Resident that will be selected by the church’s elders to serve for a period of three years. He will minister to the spiritual needs of middle school and high school students attending Christ Fellowship Church. The CFC Ministry Resident should have a passion to invest relationally in the youth of the church. He will also minister to the spiritual needs of families by providing resource materials and appropriate training to parents. In addition, the CFC Ministry Resident is expected to read and interact with the pastor staff in the areas of ecclesiology, church polity, and practical ministry. This position may ultimately become a pastoral position for the right candidate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Member in good standing at Christ Fellowship Church (CFC)
(Note: This does not require a candidate for this position to be a member of CFC prior to filling this role.)
Fully adhere to and support the Statement of Faith of CFC
Demonstrable spiritual maturity in keeping with someone who aspires to the office of elder
Able to work well with the elders, staff, church members, and youth
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred, but not required
Experience operating AV equipment, and utilizing Planning Center, Microsoft Office Suite, and other communication tools is preferred, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the Student Ministry of Christ Fellowship Church under the oversight of the Lead Pastor
Work with the Student Ministry Team to cast vision, plan and execute the ministry, and keep the Student Ministry connected to the overall life and direction of the church
Regular communication and teamwork with the Student Ministry Team and with parents of children and students, providing resources and access to helpful tools for in-home discipleship
Availability to counsel students
Maintenance of regular office hours
Administration and Oversight of the Student Ministry budget
Attendance at Staff Meetings
Other assignments as directed by Lead Pastor.
Ecclesiology Residency Component
In addition to the above ministry, the CFC Ministry Resident will spend 10 of his required 40 hours per week reading books and writing response papers in the areas of ecclesiology, church polity, and practical pastoral ministry. The Ministry Resident will meet with the pastoral staff weekly to discuss what he is learning.
