Associate Pastor

OVERVIEW

Grace Church of Gainesville, Virginia is prayerfully seeking an Associate Pastor. Their growing congregation is located in the rapidly expanding outer suburbs of the Washington, DC metro area. They are a congregation of just over 200 members, led by a team of pastors/elders, seeking to help one another follow Jesus. The ideal candidate will have a combination of pastoral and administrative gifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Tit. 1:5-9; 1 Pet. 5:1-5)

• Models humility, teachability, and the desire to be a team player

• In agreement with Grace Church’s Statement of Faith and Membership Covenant

• Two years of vocational ministry experience

• Minimum of an M.Div degree

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Senior Pastor in providing spiritual care to members, particularly through the oversight of small groups

• Minister God’s Word through teaching, preaching and discipleship

• Work to implement and exemplify a culture of relational and structured discipleship among members of the church

• More specific responsibilities are to be discussed further with interested candidates
