Pastoral Assistant
OVERVIEW
Restoration Church in Washington, DC is seeking a Pastoral Assistant to provide administrative support for their pastors, support the church’s mission by assisting with all aspects of ministry and help where needed in order to ensure that church life runs smoothly.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications outlined in Scripture of a deacon/deaconess
Agreement to Restoration Church’s Statement of Faith
Membership, or progressing towards membership, at Restoration Church
Cordial and professional conduct with excellent interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Ability to work independently, organizing, prioritizing and following through with details
Flexibility to adapt to work-related changes
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other management software
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Administration and Availability
Learn church systems and various software platforms; becoming generally proficient in all areas needed to sustain the logistics of church life
Learn how the physical church building functions and provide logistical and janitorial assistance as needed
Be available to help with any task for which the pastors or staff need assistance
Provide administrative support for various areas of church life
Arrive one hour (1) before Sunday gatherings
Generally attend church events and gatherings
Training & Equipping
Develop draft of weekly CG leader guides
Prepare for and attend weekly sermon prep
Attend elders’ meetings (as invited)
Help prepare for and attend Membership Introduction classes, Church Planting Weekender, church events and activities as requested
Regularly meet up with and disciple members of the church
Youth
Develop Youth Group curriculum/lessons with and under oversight from an elder(s)
Serve as the primary teacher for the Youth Group
Oversee the various aspects and manage the implementation of Youth Group gatherings
Regularly debrief with Youth discipling volunteers
Communicate with parents about Youth Group details and events

Term Commitment: 3+ years
Compensation:
Annual Salary: Beginning at $58,000
Retirement: 3% of salary as employer contribution
Insurance: Employer to pay up to $800/month for health insurance
