Director of Children’s Ministry

OVERVIEW

Providence Baptist Church is hiring a part-time Director of Children’s Ministry to serve by partnering with parents to help equip children (birth-5th) to become fruit bearing disciples of Jesus Christ. by leading/facilitating our weekly children’s (birth-5th) discipleship, programming, events, and care.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Organizational skills to schedule volunteers, events, teaching, training, safety, database management, background checks, follow up and assimilation

  • Verbal and written communication skills for individual and group teaching, training, vision casting, ministry direction, and promotion.

  • Training skills for the development of children ministry leadership and ministry teams.

  • Mobilization skills to involve trained and qualified leaders and volunteers in the Children’s Ministry.

  • Motivational skills to inspire others to serve with vision, energy, and excellence.

  • Relational skills to engage and encourage children, parents, and volunteers.

  • Team skills to work with the church leadership, staff, and ministry team volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the strategy/ scope and sequence for children’s ministry

  • Teach and coordinate teaching to accomplish the goals of the Children’s Ministry.

  • Become a subject matter expert in child protection and consistently implement a healthy protection policy.

  • Oversee scheduling, training, and care of volunteers

  • Oversee the procurement and disbursal of all needed supplies, materials, curriculum, etc.

  • Manage budget forecasts and expenses.

  • Recruit, train, onboard, schedule and manage all volunteers.

  • Continually assess needs and flow of all points of Children’s Ministry

  • Oversee communications related to the worship ministry including print and electronic media.

  • Serve under the direction and accountability of the elders. Report directly to the Lead Pastor.
