Pastor for Students and Sending

OVERVIEW

The Student Pastor plans, organizes, and leads all ministry for 6th–12th grade students. He partners with parents to disciple students through gospel transformation, loving community, and missional living. He shepherds students through weekly and monthly student gatherings and equips adult volunteers to serve in Fairview’s student ministry.

The Sending Pastor works with the elders to provide oversight to all Missions & Outreach ministries at Fairview Baptist Church, whether local, national, or international. He mobilizes Fairview members to participate in God’s mission in the world and provides pastoral care for Fairview’s sent and supported workers.

Student Ministry Responsibilities

  • Oversees and teaches in student Life Groups, Discipleship Groups, and Equip Classes to make disciples who know and love the gospel.

  • Organizes regular student activities and occasional large events such as discipleship conferences, camps, and student retreats to foster a culture of loving community.

  • Shares the gospel with non-believing students and parents while modeling and teaching other students how to live on mission.

  • Equips parents as the primary disciple makers of their students and enlists adult volunteers to serve in Fairview’s Student Ministry.

Sending Ministry Responsibilities

  • Equips church members for life on mission through evangelism training, missions education, and intentional prayer.

  • Oversees Care Teams to mobilize Fairview members to pray and care for our mission partners.

  • Leads local, national, and international ministry teams to encourage Fairview’s mission partners and strengthen their long-term efforts.

  • Oversees the Missions & Outreach Team as they execute local outreach events.

  • Cooperates with partner seminaries, church-planting networks, and denominational entities to multiply church planting efforts around the world.

  • Full time elder position, with benefits.

  • Maintain general office hours Monday–Thursday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with flexibility for family and service on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.

  • Other hours as required to meet ministry needs.

  • Travel expected 2–3 weeks per year for student events, ministry conferences, and mission trips.
