Director of Next Gen Ministries

OVERVIEW

Grace Life Baptist Church in Cypress, Texas is seeking a full-time Director of Next Gen Ministries. The Director of Next Gen Ministries leads Grace Life's ministry to middle and high school students, young adults, and assigned outreach events. The director teaches God's Word, develops leaders, partners with families, and builds ministries that help students and families confess Christ, follow Christ, and become healthy, functioning church members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Born-again believer with a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a life consistent with biblical character

  • In agreement with Grace Life's Statement of Faith and willing to become an active member of Grace Life Baptist Church

  • Clear calling to serve students and young adults, with demonstrated ability to teach the Bible faithfully, build relationships, develop volunteers, and organize ministry

  • Self-motivated, dependable, emotionally mature, teachable, and able to receive direction and feedback

  • Two to five years of ministry leadership experience, particularly in student ministry preferred

  • Ministry education or related training preferred

  • Complete and pass all background check and child protection policy requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Student Ministry

    • Pursue the central goal of Student Ministry: to evangelize students, disciple them toward maturity in Christ, and train them to become healthy, functioning members of the local church.

    • Lead weekly ministry environments

    • Strengthen students' participation in the gathered church

    • Provide relational discipleship and pastoral care

    • Equip parents for the spiritual formation of their students

    • Recruit, train, and care for adult volunteers and develop qualified student leaders

  • Young Adult Ministry

    • Lead a ministry strategy that fosters biblical community, discipleship, service, and meaningful church membership

    • Create consistent gatherings and relational opportunities

    • Develop young adult leaders

    • Provide appropriate pastoral care and connect young adults with other church leaders when deeper care is needed

  • Event Outreach

    • Provide overall leadership for the Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, and other outreach events

    • Establish each event's purpose, audience, timeline, budget, volunteer structure, communication, and follow-up plan

    • Evaluate events for gospel clarity, guest experience, volunteer health, follow-up, and alignment with Grace Life's mission

  • Leadership & Administration

    • Serve under the leadership of the Lead Pastor and elders, collaborating closely with staff and ministry leaders

    • Build sustainable ministries

    • Maintain accurate calendars, rosters, attendance, volunteer schedules, budgets, and communications

    • Ensure compliance with all Grace Life policies

    • Participate in staff meetings, planning, and ministry evaluations
