Assistant Pastor of College and Youth Ministry
OVERVIEW
The Assistant Pastor of College and Youth Ministry at Bull Street Baptist Church labors alongside the Lead Pastor and other pastoral staff to lead and to oversee the church as a steward of God (Titus 1:7). The primary responsibility of the Assistant Pastor of College and Youth Ministry is to lead a Christ-centered and Gospel-saturated ministry to college students that equips them to know Christ and to tell others of God’s amazing grace. His accountability is to God, first and foremost. Administratively, he reports directly to the Lead Pastor. The Youth Director will report to him.
RESPONSIBILITIES
College Ministry (85%)
Seek to reach unbelieving students for Christ.
Plan and carry out a weekly teaching schedule for the college ministry gathering
Oversee and lead the Student Leadership Team
Disciple believers to become fully devoted followers of Christ
Focus on Bible study, worship, and small groups as the basis for spiritual growth and outreach.
Enlist and equip adults of the church to lead, disciple and encourage students in the college ministry.
Obtain materials and resources for Bible study, discipleship, leadership and life skills development.
Offer programs, conferences, retreats and other training and growth opportunities for college students.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with college administration, faculty and staff.
Network with other churches, campus ministries, and Christian organizations
Youth (10%)
Oversee the Youth Director as your direct report
Administration (5%)
Serve as staff consultant to committees/councils as assigned.
Plan and submit an annual budget for the College Ministry and all other responsibilities.
Oversee and manage the approved annual budgets.
Other
This role will be a vital part of leadership, planning with other staff, ministering in outreach and crisis, and other pastoral duties
Occasional other duties based on the ministry needs of the body
The Assistant Pastor of College and Youth Ministry will receive an annual performance review
QUALIFICATIONS
Some Ministry Experience Required, preferably College Ministry Experience
Bible College Degree (complete) and Masters of Divinity (in progress or completed)
Affinity for the Arts (not necessary, but valued)
