Financial Partners for Church Building
OVERVIEW
Redemption Hill Community is currently doing a fundraising campaign for a down payment on a building. We serve in a poor and mostly unreached city in Maine. Our young church was evicted from our previous location because of city code enforcement on our previous landlord. In God's providence, he led us to a new location in the heart of the city with plenty of space for us to grow and manifold ways for us to live as a family of missionaries together. It is centrally located (across from city hall) and we minister to many of the poor, addicted, those struggling with mental illness, immigrants, and refugees. We currently translate into 5 languages.
In order to stay in our location for the long haul, we need to move from renting to owning. We are currently diverting about 70% of our income simply to the building. Part of that is over $25,000 in property taxes we are paying through our Triple Net agreement that would go away completely once we own.
Our goal is to raise $350,000 for our downpayemt and (by God's grace) we have raised around $150,000 of that already. However, most of this has been sacrificial "above and beyond" giving from our members. About 75% of our fundraising has been internal. We hope to raise the remaining $200,000 in the next two years to be able to sustainably afford to remain in our location.
We would love the support of the Pillar Network family. We would love to discuss the possibility of partnering financially with other churches either through one-time gifts or a 2-year partnership. There are not many resources in our area, nor are their any other healthy, gospel-centered churches doing active ministry in the downtown area of our city. We want to stay here for the next 200 years as a gospel beacon in a very lost city. We would love to talk with any other Pillar churches interested in supporting missional kingdom work in a very lost area of New England.
